Bah! Is it my fault judges can't distinguish between an actual dolphin kick and natural undulation from a strong pulldown?
And that was nothing compared to my initial Jim Thornton statue of liberty move! I didn't hear the beep on my heat of the 50 evil and just stood on the blocks when everyone else raced ... Unlike poor Jimby, this thankfully was not filmed. :).
BTW, did a huge PB 2 heats later, dropping almost a full second from Zones just a month ago with a 32.8. In our running gridge, the Stud nosed me out with a stellar 32.7 in a nylon brief. Way to go, Stud!
Leslie, I'm hearing so many having a problem with the start. I'm sorry it happened in your ***. I missed it while I was warming up. Ugh, my fear is missing the start. I told him in person but :applaud: Stud!
Good job:cheerleader::cheerleader::cheerleader:
Thanks Allen.
I am curious how everyone is doing with the walls. I noticed they are going with flat walls on the start end and "gutter" walls on the bulkhead. Has it been hard remembering to do different turns for fly and *** on each end, not to mention that most of you probably weren't prepared for flat wall turns for this meet?
Just curious. The last big meet held there was the 2006 USA Swimming nationals and they had flat walls at both ends. I think they only have enough touchpads for one course. Does the pool not have gutters on the starting ends when the pads are removed?
In any case, I wish I could have been there to see everyone swim so fast, but you'll just have to come to Mesa next year. And Allen, you will never have to suffer buttocks embarrassment again!
MORE FEAR!!!

Pulverizing the NATL record by 12 seconds, in a 200, almost seems unfair. What a great swim!
Eliane... I missed you today. I was so focused on my 50 *** that I wasn't able to look for you. Are you coming back on Sat or Sun? I hope so. We need to meet. We're sitting upstairs, above the VIP area.
Great job Allen. Nice to see you again.
Today I had 3 events - 400 IM, 200 free and 50 *** (yes, back-to-back-to-back) and had personal bests in all 3 :banana:
Hey Alison, I'm glad we finally met!!! Congrats. on your PB's! I didn't realize that when I met you today. Way to go!! :applaud:
Pete looked practically nekked in that sea of bodysuits, and his seed time was a LZR time. He had trouble with the bulkhead wall and missed his turns there. He did split a 21.9 on our relay though, so his speed is there!
Many many folks are complaining about the white bulkhead wall in addition to not being able to hear the starting beep.
Hey Fort, great meeting you today!
Thanks for letting us know that others are complaining about the white bulkhead wall! I thought it was just me! I messed up my turn on the 50 breaststroke, because I misjudged the wall. :bitching: So, I only posted a time just barely better than my seed time. I had tried practicing my turns during the 30 minute break, but it was a zoo in that pool on Friday morning! Today, I got more turns in, because I got into the pool right away, but it was still hard on the 100 breaststroke to see the wall. Tomorrow, I swim the 200 breaststroke. Joy...
