Atlanta Results Thread

USMS Nationals is now well under way in Atlanta. Just a few more heats left in the 1000 free. Use this thread to post any notable results!
  • And here's another family relay type thing: 1 AMS 'A' 1:34.33 1:29.18N 1) Hughey, Richard L M47 2) Hughey, Corey M W21 3) Hughey, Austin L M19 4) Ewing, Emile C W22 21.06 44.29 (23.23) 1:05.65 (21.36) 1:29.18 (23.53) This is really impressive. A family relay, swimming in 18+, setting a new national record with the "old guy" outsplitting everyone! Check out the splits by the two girls, too. Top notch!
  • I think my 50 BR today was cursed:censor:.First I thought I was finally going to get to wear my Jaked at a Nationals. It went on fine, but as I was gently adjusting it,it exploded in the buttocks area.I ran to get my back up LZR and got it on and hurried down for my heat. Then as I was putting on my goggles the strap broke. It was too late to get a back up pair so I swam without goggles. As I stood on the blocks I thought"no big deal,I swam without goggles all through college."As soon as I took my first stroke i realized that in college I swam with my head up and now I swim with my head down and that I really couldn't see the wall.I'm pretty happy to have been under 31 considering that my turn and finish were by the Braille method. The 100 fly was better,1:04.8,a PB:bliss: Congrats. on the PB, Allen! I missed that race, because we decided to try to beat the traffic back home. Beat the traffic, and, fortunately, got home JUST before the storm hit. (Got caught in it this morning, though... :bitching: ) Anyway, I posted a reply to your PM before I read this post. I can relate to your turn "by the Braille method". That's how my turn felt. I didn't see the wall well (so much for my anti-fog goggles fogging; I'm going for the dab of baby shampoo tomorrow) and my timing was bad going into it. Neither of us got PB's in our 50... :bighug: Sorry to hear about your suit AND goggles! :bitching: :bitching: :bitching: :bighug: Tomorrow will be BETTER!!! :cheerleader:

I missed you today. I was so focused on my 50 *** that I wasn't able to look for you. Are you coming back on Sat or Sun? I hope so. We need to meet. We're sitting upstairs, above the VIP area. • Perhaps the usually shy Leslie will let us know her feelings on this... Bah! Is it my fault judges can't distinguish between an actual dolphin kick and natural undulation from a strong pulldown? And that was nothing compared to my initial Jim Thornton statue of liberty move! I didn't hear the beep on my heat of the 50 evil and just stood on the blocks when everyone else raced ... Unlike poor Jimby, this thankfully was not filmed. :). BTW, did a huge PB 2 heats later, dropping almost a full second from Zones just a month ago with a 32.8. In our running gridge, the Stud nosed me out with a stellar 32.7 in a nylon brief. Way to go, Stud!
  • I'm just thrilled that I negative split my 1000 (5:16, 5:14) and I THINK I can give an honest shot at 5:00 in the 500!:applaud: Go for it! Great swim Lump. Looks like you're going to have a great meet.
  • PNA domination in the W 400 IM! Fear the Upper Left Corner! Charlotte Davis was the Olympic coach for synchro for many years and if you watch her swim that synchro background shows. Incredibly smooth and fluid swimmer! Jim Clemmons' reign of terror continues! :) Jim is looking good, that's for sure! Fear the mustache! :) P.S. Check out the daily recap video from Rowdy and Rob Butcher on the USMS home page. Good stuff! Exciting race in the M35-39 200 free: 1 Blessing, Tyler J 37 TXLA 1:42.37 1:41.53 23.53 49.39 (25.86) 1:15.56 (26.17) 1:41.53 (25.97) 2 Christensen, Eric B 35 BDO 1:44.51 1:41.60 23.51 49.46 (25.95) 1:15.87 (26.41) 1:41.60 (25.73) Speedo was in the same heat, but it looks like he was a little off today.
