Ok, so I swam this race a little different than my last meet a month ago. Decided to take it out first 100 faster and try to hold on. Probably not the best thing to do after being sick for week and half and coughing up a lung but I did manager a slightly better overall time than a month ago. Im in the yellow cap. Gotta love the music that was playing! split diffrence from month ago and today.
month ago: 27.8, 30.9, 30.6, 29.6 1:59.1
today: 26.3, 29.6, 30.9, 31.5 1:58.5
This pool sucked. Looking at video it seemed to be really wavey. Every time I did a turn on the touch pad, it slid off to the side.

Nope,I didnt hear anything playing. It was a "prize" heat. So they play music while you swam, if ya won your heat, you got a prize. For my efforts I won a swim cap lol.
You swam the race much smarter than the guy next to you. Man, he tightened up like nobody's business on the last 50. Great swim. Work on your kick but it is hard to have a good kick on the 200 fly. I find it difficult on the 200 fly. You have a nice rhythm overall. I wish that I could come near that time unrested.
Good job! :applaud: Two comments:
-I like the undulation you have going, but it seems to me that your arms are doing all the work. In other words, I think you must work on a more propulsive kick. Watch Phelps' leg work -> YouTube- Michael Phelps - Butterfly 01
-Your SDK was nice and long but it needs to be more explosive!
Cheers.
Considering that's over 30 seconds faster than I swim the 200 free, then Good Race!
The video was fun to watch, your competition died on the last 50. One thing though, right at the end where the suspense peaks your camera operator started getting lazy.
yep,i know I was pretty much all arms and upper body that race. My training had been a little suspect because I was sick leading up to that race for about week and half. Trained thru the cold but not like I normally train.
Hopefully my legs will get back to where they need to be for next meet in middle of April. Then no more meets until Nats then I can start to let this old body repair itself. Right now I feel broken down which is good. Just need to grind out another month and half of hard training before taper!
If your feet slide off to the side then maybe your feet are not centered on the wall. Try to place them more in line with your push off. Nice time in any case !
lol,yep that guy next to me really took it out fast. He was just a silly 23yr old trying to trick the 43yr old into keeping pace with him and dying together in the end. Definitely a race where I swam my own race and did not let him dictate my pace.
