I would like to propose the First Annual Forum 50.
The idea originated here: Eat or not before swimming in Early Morning? - Page 4 - U.S. Masters Swimming Discussion Forums
Here are the rules:
Swim an all out 50 for time
Post your time here
That's it. Swim an off 50, swim your best, swim a 50 IM, who cares. It is like a postal swim, except not official for anything, and takes a lot less time.
It's only a 50!
The next time I have access to starting blocks is Friday, so I will do my swim Friday or Monday.
If you got'em, use 'em. (Blocks)
Good luck.
We did five rounds of the Auburn sprint set this morning:
50 from blocks -- 20 fast/30 easy (good breakout)
50 from push -- 30 fast/20 easy (all out into turn, good breakouts)
50 easy recovery
50 from blocks all out
3 and 5 were from the blocks on the last one. I did free/back/free/fly/free, held 23/26/23/26/23 on the last 50 of each set. This set is deceptive, it seems easy initially but if you really throw everything into it, the rounds get progressively harder. It is a good sprint set. I can say that now that it is over ;).
