I would like to propose the First Annual Forum 50.
The idea originated here: Eat or not before swimming in Early Morning? - Page 4 - U.S. Masters Swimming Discussion Forums
Here are the rules:
Swim an all out 50 for time
Post your time here
That's it. Swim an off 50, swim your best, swim a 50 IM, who cares. It is like a postal swim, except not official for anything, and takes a lot less time.
It's only a 50!
The next time I have access to starting blocks is Friday, so I will do my swim Friday or Monday.
If you got'em, use 'em. (Blocks)
Good luck.
Okay... I'll bite.....
50 SCY Backstroke from a push (no blocks where I am)
53 year old male with a paunch to haul
end of the day, before dinner, after 2,000 yards...
33.0
Anyone else wanna play? :applaud:
Last timed 50:
50 dolphin kick with a monofin: 20-20.5 from a push
I hope I'm healthy enough to do one from the blocks on Sunday. Very useful practice.

That's pretty cool. I'd love to swim a 50 in under 20 seconds, I don't care what equipment I'm using!

It's soooo fun!!!
I think I might be able to d go under 20 if I didn't have to slow down slightly for the turn and finish to avoid a disabling injury. lol
I went 23 in LCM last summer. No worries about the turn there.

Are you able to actually push off the wall after the turn with the mono-fin on?

Yep, I've gotten pretty adept at doing a regular flip turn with the MF. The push off from the flip isn't as good as the initial push off though.
