Has anyone used this interesting device - the TRX Suspension Trainer?
www.fitnessanywhere.com/.../TRX
I don't have the money or time to join a gym right now, and a friend of mine told me about this product. I thought it might help me gain strength for swimming.
Actually the friend who recommended it to me says it is portable and that you hang it over a door. I'm just trying to find out if other people like it or not.
I would start with a body weight only workout plan before investing in TRX.
TRX was discussed briefly in the blog comments, but I think it was limited to "X famous swimmer loves TRX" and my take that TRX isn't really portable since it requires being anchored.
i have one hanging off my deck. (next to the speed bag) i really like it for shoulder stabilization exercises.
with an extra length of webbing (+/- 4') i could set it up almost anywhere.
I used it recently as part of my post-surgery (shoulder) therapy. It was okay but not great. Main function was core stabilization. I found you can get many of the same results doing certain exercises using one of those big physio balls, therabands and/or dumb-bells.
