Groundhog Day Gridge Thread (Groundhog Day Gridge Thread)

Anybody going to the SCY meet in Olympia this weekend? If I recall correctly, I entered the 100-200 free, 50-100 ***, and 200 IM, so I'm easy pickings for any gridgers out there. I might need a running start for the 50 ***...:bed:

  • Sounds like your meet was a lot of fun :applaud: OMG, she is absolutely amazing. 100 IM holy cow!!! My best 100 free is 56. WOW!!! My meet was fun until my hubby pulled his groin, in his first lap of his first race in five years. :badday: He's 6'4" and known for his phenomenal walls. It was during the 200 br. He dove in and went well past 15m (wearing a B70 for the first time). Either on the dive, or on the first kick, his groin "popped" as he described. He did 3 strokes on the first lap with no power in his kick. Lap 2 he went past 15m again and took 4 strokes. Lap 3 he went 15m took one stroke, did free to the other end and got out. His first 50 with little effort and no kick was 32 low (at least that part was good!) Fortunately for me I entered my first 3 events back to back. So while he was trying to figure out if he could swim, I raced. He waited for me another 45 min so I could swim 200 back. I didn't want to ask him to wait for the last event, 200IM, so we left. My 200 back was 2:25. And while I didn't do 200 IM, I suspect that it would have been 2:25 or faster, as my back and IM are almost always the same. I'm sorry I didn't follow through on our bet. I'll let you know before I swim it next time? (And this time I won't bring the old man with me!) :lmao:
