Since I am staying in Atlanta for a month I will be driving from Denver!
I will need to find a pool and Masters team, and hotel for my taper between Denver, Kansas City, St. Louis, Lawrenceville, GA.where my son lives. Plan to spend a week at the beach (Hilton Head) after Nationals and then do BIke Ride Across Georgia! There is also a Long COurse Meet at UGA the first week of June!
I have booked a room near GA Tech because Atlanta traffic from Larenceville and downtown is just awful!
SWIMMER said the online entry would start today.I can't find it,is it just not up yet or am I looking in the wrong place(same for the on campus housing.)
I think I will stay at the Georgia Tech Hotel. It is a lot cheaper and on the trolley to the pool. BTW I think MARTA is great. There is a station in the airport and trains run frequently. During high traffic times, it is the fastest way to get to the airport. The trains go all the way to Buckhead if you are staying there. So, if we stay at the Ga Tech hotel, can we get away without renting a car and without having to walk too much?

My opinion is yes. Driving in mid town is a hassle and then you couple it with driving and the expense and time consuming nature of trying to find a place to park. I suggest cabs if you are going anywhere. However, if you plan to go more than 10 miles beyond the pool you need a rental car.

Yes, at worst you'll cab to your destination but coming from Hartsfield is by MARTA and everything else is very close. The hidden cost of a car is parking which will run you $18-$25/day at the hotel.

The Courtyard price of 109/night includes parking.
I spent 3 months at the Four Seasons in Midtown in late 2008 - I can recommend it. Got a special rate because I stayed so long, but I think I will stay at the Georgia Tech Hotel.
