Geek- just looked up Embassy Suites and it does look sweet, however it's 9 miles from the pool. It was pretty cheap too for such a swanky place- $89/nt.
Thanks for the tip though:)

Check again, it's less than 2 miles away, you looked at the Buckhead Embassy. It's the one at Centennial Olympic Park.
Okey dokey. I'm leaving work now. Phew it's been a tough day on the Internet :lmao: but I'll check when I get home.
Thanks again, and I look forward to meeting you FINALLY!
I have a question for you veterans. I just started swimming competitions, so I know that I won't qualify, but can I come and cheer you all on? I live close enough that it's a day trip for me. Are we allowed to do that?
As Mj said, you can swim in 3 events, even if you don't qualify. But if you decide not to swim, please come cheer. We love cheering. Please come meet your fellow forumites, as well :)
found a killer hotel deal for 2010 SCY Nats
go to Hot Wire . com
Put in Atlanta, GA & the dates you need for the meet
Select the 3 star Buckhead Hotel for around $45 a night, Recommended in 95% of customer reviews,
if you want a room with 2 beds, put in 2 adults 2 kids
it's a great brand, 5 miles from the pool, non smoking and complimentary breakfast
Bet it will sell out soon, see you there!
You're welcome!
SCORE! I made my reservations for Friday and Saturday night. Thanks for the tip, Ande!

Oh, I'll definitely be there cheering. I'm not very fast right now, but I'm actually debating swimming an event, just to do it.
Don't take this admonition lightly. Ga Tech lies in the heart of where traffic is truly nightmarish. Traffic will be fine on the weekend but Thurs and Friday it will be hell.
I was just at Ga Tech for work on Wednesday. It took me 90 minutes to drive the first 100 miles, and 20 minutes to drive the last mile.

I believe I owe you a beer for some cardiac advice a year or two ago.
I will take you up on that. Better reimbursement than what I get from Medicare these days.
Yea, I have an old NWA (not the rap group) credit, but of course Delta/NWA is practically double the cost of Midwest, Frontier, etc on Expedia...
I will decide tonight whether or not to attend.:blah:
I think I've got Delta buddy passes if you want to live on the edge and fly standby (wife is a retired Delta flight attendant). I can't remember how the fare you would pay is calculated, but it's pretty cheap. But it has been a real hassle flying standby on Delta lately, especially out of PDX, and buddy passes are at the absolute bottom of the seniority list. I have succesfully made it to Austin and Clovis flying standby (I treat the challenge of figuring out how to get there and back as my 7th event), but I may end up having to buy a ticket to Atlanta this year.
