Thanks no200fly for the tip about Tech Trolley!:)
I know many of our USMS employees are top level swimmers and wonder why they haven't chimed in on this thread more. I suspect one in particular, the one I crushed like a bug at a meet last year, could provide some excellent insight. But, after the beat down he took, I can understand him maintianing a low profile.
Geek, you really should pick on someone your own age. Let's see if you come close to matching our times if and when you finally reach a competitive age group (50-54).
I apologize, I really should hold my elders in higher regard. You guys don't have much time left and need to have supportive people around you, not haters.
I really just wanted to see if I could bring matysek out of his self imposed smack talking forum ban. Mission accomplished.

Why? Why is there this need to fill all six slots?
My theory has always been you're there, so you might as well swim. Six individual events, relays, it's all good.
Why? Why is there this need to fill all six slotsI completely understand people not wanting to swim all six. For me, it boils down to this:
I truly enjoy pretty much every event out there, each for different reasons, but I really like them all.
I never feel like I get to race in as many meets each year as I want to due to work, family, life commitments.
I like racing.
There's always gobs of rest at Nationals, even for events back-to-back, so swimming 3 events in a day is not a stretch.
I get bored easily.
I generally don't like to sight-see in the midst of a meet, so what else am I going to do?
6 reasons for 6 events!
If one only wants to swim 2-3 events, then that is all they should swim.
You're right, he should do what he wants. But qbrain asked why there is a "need" to fill all six spots and some of us have given reasons.

Heck, I'd say he should pick on people in his weight class but then that limits him to the lower 20th percentile of 9 year olds.
