I've been searching all over, and I can't find any jammers for gals available on the internet. Doesn't anyone make them or sell them specially made to fit a women's figure? It appears that jammers are only made for men, however, tonight I got a request from a 12 year old to get her some sleeker, narrower or thinner boardshorts to wear in the school pool. So I thought maybe jammers would fit the bill, but none are available except in men's styles. So if anyone knows of where I can find jammers specifically made for gals, please let me know. Thank you, clyde:angel:
Thank you for all of your suggestions and I've proceeded to ordered the tri-shorts: TYR and 2XU. Hopefully, they'll meet the "tween" swimmer's approval? Yes, I do agree that bikinis are more flattering, however, you got to understand the social dynamics that goes on at a coed middle school. Also, the wearing of men's jammers won't fly, since the kid can read the invoice, and if it isn't specifically made for gals, she won't wear it. My objective is to get the kid back into the pool, which is pretty tough, since it is not the beach and there's no surf. Hopefully, the shorts I've ordered will hold up well in the chlorine?
If you get polyester ones, they will last for a long long time. Avoid Lycra Spandex. It's stretched out in a couple weeks.
:agree:poly will last MUCH longer Tri suits or jammers will do the trick.

Hi Clyde,
You could look at tri shorts. For example:

or
www.swimoutlet.com/ProductBrand.asp
There are tons of brands. Tri shorts usually have a small pad in them for the bike... it's not very noticeable but if it's bothersome you could also look at maybe lycra running shorts or workout shorts? Just throwing out some ideas. Good luck.
girls can wear jammers made for males, the fabric is pretty stretchy

Forget about jammers (and tech suits) for gals.
Girls and women look much, much better in conventional bikini style suits. :agree:

Board shorts are very different from jammers. Don't purchase anything until it meets approval from your daughter otherwise she won't wear it. I am guessing she wants the low-cut tighter shorter cotton shorts that lace up in the front, not the jammers that actual swimmers wear (knee-length snug lycra/poly).
Not sure why anyone would want cotton board shorts to actually swim in.
Jammers - I put them under my "normal" women's training Speedo to turn it into a knee suit. I used to wear women's UnderArmor compression shorts but men's jammer swimwear (poly) last much longer and there is no noticeable difference in appearance or function. Plain old basic black.

Just to clarify my previous statement (so no one thinks I'm promoting Kiddie Porn), I meant girls at least 18 and older.

Good idea, about wearing boy's jammers under girls one-piece Speedo racers. Will give it a try, since it should be less bulky and cheaper than the padded tri-shorts? As an alternative, sent her off to school with girls "boy cut" nylon shorts to wear in the pool today. So will see how that went? Thanks
Note: board shorts made of polyester absorb lots of water and tend to weigh you down as you swim or do precision swim maneuvers.
