FINA issued Ruled,www.usms.org/.../showpost.php
Soon the USMS rules committee will issue their ruling.
SCM & LCM seems to be a done deal, the 2010 seasons started on Jan 1, 2010 & the rule began on Jan 1, 2010.
SCY is an American thing. The 2009 - 2010 SCY season began on June 1st 2009 and ends on May 31st 2010.
Will the new suit rules take effect immediately or at the end of this season?
I've heard rumours we might be able to wear full body suits at 2010 SCY Nats.
Look forward to finding out what the USMS ruling will be for SCY.
1/15/10 FINA BUREAU CONSIDERS SWIMWEAR RULES FOR MASTERS
The FINA Bureau has considered Masters swimwear rules. The USMS Rules Committee will learn the results shortly and then will immediately reconsider the USMS swimwear rules in cooperation with the USMS Executive Committee. All USMS members will be notified of any changes to USMS swimwear rules and the effective date. Regardless of any changes to the USMS swimwear rules, the June 1, 2009 USMS swimwear interpretations will apply for the duration of the One Hour Postal Swim being conducted in January 2010.

Is the material used on the new FS Pro jammer the same as it was last year?
If so there should be no issue converting our FS Pro legskins into jammers right?!
I have a Rocket Science Sprinter suit that I was never able to wear or return! Probably just your size!
Shannon hated her RSS suit, and actually preferred her FSII. I think she's getting a TYR Tracer or B70 for the future, though.
And we have to forgive the various pro-techies. Daddy FINA and Momma USMS are taking away their pacifiers and security blankets and that's made them awfully cranky too!
My parents didn't reverse themselves every few months. And in retrospect, I have to say that their decisions usually made sense (even if I didn't always agree with them).
Has anyone had any experience with the Finis suits? - specifically the hydrospeed and the AMPhibian john suits. I bought a 34 AMP jammer from another forumite, but it is actually just as easy to put on as my endurance jammer and not as snug, so they either run big or I lost more weight than I thought. I figured since they are still cheap and SCY allows them through May 2010, I'd grab one just for S&G. However their size chart on the 32 shows a chest size of 39 and I don't know if I can fit in it and still zipper it - are they stretchy enough - I'm 6' 2", about 210-215, 34 waist but a 46 chest - I will need to breath at some point and I don't want a wardrobe malfunction :bolt:. Anyone??
The expectation should be that the swimmer is going to have to do a lot of leg work, because this is something that benefits only the swimmer, not the meet, not the officials and not USMS. The suit does not really change anything, the swimmer needs to take responsibility to educate everyone in the process, or attend meets where someone has already done the hard work for you (thanks chowmi!).
I'd rather I do the work as long as there is a clear procedure for submitting the times.
Establishing a clearly defined procedure (to navigate this particular mess) is the only way I'm going to see this as fair to those who want their times in SWIMS. Make it straight forward, and understood by all. There should be a deliberate effort to make sure this group of people can get their times in from their taper meet. If the times don't make it in, people lose opportunities to swim so that others can swim in tech suits.
