Dolphin kick off wall every time, every stroke?

Ok, so I laid out of the pool for over 25 years. What I'm seeing now is dolphin kick off the wall seems to be SOP for every stroke. Is that true? Are there any rules and restrictions about this that a returning swimmer should know about? Anything that'll get you DQed? Thanks.

About 4 months ago I decided to SDK (streamlined dolphin kick) off of every wall in practice (I'm a freestyler). It took me about a month before it became a habit. Now I can't imagine not doing it. I started off doing 2 or 3 or sometimes 4 off of each wall. Starting right after our big SCM meet in December, my new goal is to do 4 SDK's off of each wall. It is not always easy but it is getting easier and my kick is getting better. that's cool Glenn. i tried that in the past but did not have the lungs to pull it off esp on sets of 200's or 300's. my aerobic base is a little better now so i may give it another shot this year. have you noticed a difference in the repeat times you can hold in practice now that you are doing more SDK's?
