I have a birthday coming up in about a month :cake:and I am expected to "hint" what presents I want. I would appreciate any advice about the following:
1. MP3 for swimmers - what to look for, best makes etc.
2. A wrist watch with splits. Since I am far sighted:cane: it should have a reasonably sized display. And don't tell me to use the pool clock - I hate those antique thingamaroos with all the hands going around!
Can't talk to MP3 players, but I like the Timex Ironman watches.
I have the model in the link below. In chronograph mode, it displays both the subtractive and cummulative splits, your choice of which is on the large center line and the other on the smaller lower line. Total laps displays on a smaller upper (which isn't shown when in time mode). I can usually make out the large center line with a quick glance in the middle of a turn, the other lines I pretty much have to stop to read. The large black button on the front is for splits, easy to find in the middle of turns.
A drawback of these watches are the bands, on most models the bands are not replacable.
I agree,Timex Ironman!!!
