The meet is now underway! Awesome swim by Tom Patterson in the 400 IM. He won the 30-34 age group with a 5:16.48, almost 17 seconds under his seed time. Congrats!
  • Interesting that neither Moffet nor Lunk wore goggles while racing! My training mate who competed at the '84 Trials said that he doesn't were goggles when he races. Also, some older swimmer that I met today says that he doesn't wear in the 50s. How could anyone put their eyes in chlorinated water????

I hope Andrea Kremer knows more about football than she does about swimming.

How could anyone put their eyes in chlorinated water???? I almost never wear goggles in my backstroke races; the extra peripheral vision helps me swim straighter. I will wear them when the sun is bad, or when I have a hard time judging the flip otherwise. (I also don't wear them in backstroke sets in practice...but my practice pools aren't chlorinated.) His seed time was a 2:18! That was a great swim by Keith (and Jeff). Interesting tidbit: Keith wore the usual B70...and no cap. I found that a little odd, but it obviously works for him.

  • Leslie broke 30 seconds in the 50 fly to finish third with a 29.74! Strong swim by Dana Burkart, too, also finishing third in her age group and demolishing her seed time.

I got to meet many Forumites today. I met Jim Thornton, Leslie Livingston, and Paul Wolf. Met Floyd Fisk again (I think we met at Trials last year). And, just so you know, the Webmaster is hard at work posting results (see attached photo - note the bottle next to the computer).
