Leslie was only .22 off the World record too. But a new world record set at Nationals for her age group (18-24 iirc).
Awesome job Leslie. 50M is a long way to swim fly without a wall to hang on in the middle.
Gary Hall Sr. just set a world record in the 55-59 50 fly: 26.86. It was mine so I was watching. When an Olympian of his stature breaks your record it's not so bad. I feel honored but would of course like to get it back! Obviously he is swimming fast and I am waiting to see him go after the record in the 100 fly as well.
Congrats Gary! It's great that you and other Olympians swim in our meets.
Mike Ross (52.42) just eclipsed Erik Hochstein's 100 Free record (52.48). Would like to see them swim each other sometime.
Not quite! Erik swam a 52.10 a couple weeks ago.

that was a fast heat- that got him 3rd.
That's why I swam the time I swam ... I came up after the turn 1/2 a bodylength behind and was really able to dig in coming home.

No kidding. I swam in Mike's 100 heat today and was near him at the turn. Then he disappeared!
Chick-o'-the-Sea and Anna Lea-Hawk both swam 400 FR this morning before some of us quite rolled out of bed.
Others whose names I only partly recognize did so as well.
