I'm not sure they've ever done a relay day at Nationals before. At most Nationals, short or long course, the relays are at the ends of the day Friday, Saturday and Sunday and only the 200 relays are offered. At Worlds they do have a relay day, but again it's only the 200 meter events. The first Nationals I went to was in 2003, so I can't really speak for anything before then. I think the Indy meet organizers thought offering every relay would be a good way to attract some swimmers who might not otherwise attend. A five day meet is awfully long, though. Anyone traveling from a decent distance would probably need to take four days off from work if they wanted to swim every day of the meet.
