Yeah and from my angle, #1 had the biggest roll start ever--at least a few tenths and definitely a false start.
that elusive hundredth
200's are hard to correctly split
If I were his coach, I'd say
great effort! Looks like you were a little too aggressive on your first 50 and it cost you on your last 50. Maybe if you gave up 1/2 or 3/4ths of second on the first 50, you might have kept the next 3 under 29, ideal being 26.9 28.9 28.9 28.9
your 1:38 SCY swim is much stronger, you've got great turns & excellent SDK
bet that last 25 hurt like a mother. Great swim, warm down rest up for tomorrow.

I always thought of myself as a sprinter, but had a decent 400 IM LCM this year. Not as many people want to swim it. Some events are way tougher than others, like the 50 free, everybody swims it
Dude, you've got it backwards: some events are way easier than others, like the 50 free, so everybody swims it. Other events, like the 400 IM, are so tough that only the few, the proud, the truly tough swimmers attempt it.
As someone whose fave event is the 400 IM and who has the slowest measured reaction time off the blocks in the history of the sport, I say this without any bias at all.:)

Double confirmation!!!!!! I saw movement there also.
I've always been really motivated by the get out swims at the end of workout so I told myself I could scratch the 200 fly if I broke 1:17.50 in the 100 BR-
1:16.83-best time in 11 yr(OK it was the suit, but still) and so no 200 fly:bliss:
