Not a surprise. Whether it's that or Tai Chi or Yoga or TM, the refreshment and relaxation benefits are well known, and well documented. I don't know what shape my back would be in if I didn't do a bit of Yoga (not the power stuff or any of the modern versions) each morning to get loose and relax before the day begins.
I sort of remember that TM was used by volleyball teams to relax and focus a number of years ago. Wonder if that ever caught on.
