I must be getting old, I have only entered my outdoor lap pool once since it opened on Memorial Day weekend. The water was 74, but the air temp was 80. Nights have dipped into the 40's and this morning, I planned to give it a try, however, it was 64 degrees and very windy, cloudy and the water temp was only 70. I should mention that no one was in the pool either. Every summer I run maniacly to the sports stores in hopes of finding a wetsuit that feels NOTHING like a wetsuit and come home empty handed.
So, who's swimming outdoors now, with or without a wetsuit, and what are your water temps?
Well, yesterday it was 74 and the air was hot and humid, but I got so dizzy I had to get out. I went indoors and finished the workout. Bummer. Now we have rain for the next 3 days, so the water will drop to 70 again. I guess to you, that is balmy. :)
Yeah, I am finally accustomed to the cold water now. I don't need the heater in the car after practice. But, geesh, it is June and we still haven't had over 85 air temp yet but yet, we had a semi heatwave in late April. I did LCM indoors in Sewell, NJ on Saturday and it was so much better. It is basically Southern New Jersey's only LCM pool besides the Coast Guard facility in Cape May that apparently, no one is allowed to use.
