My blog is done mostly for me. I get to congratulate myself on hard work done, flagellate myself on crappy workouts, and sympathize with myself when I am demoralized and lonely. I am always shocked when someone reads my blog & makes a comment - I wish I was funny like Vlog the Inhaler, but alas, I do not have that creative streak! I also am not a formidable competitor - fraid I never really was, so it's hard to imagine my comments inspiring others. I think I just like to get my words on "paper" & I hope that in a year or so, I can look back & see that I am keeping faster intervals than I was when I started. I've certainly made some changes in the few months since my baby went off to college (sob!) such as putting myself into the pool much more frequently, and signing up for 500 miles on the stupid GTD (what WAS I thinking?), and last but not least, committing to myself at least, and joining the local USAS team to have someone push me during my practices. I feel less lonely when I read the blogs and the forum comments - because I feel like you guys are my friends even though we've never even met!! How I wish I had a masters team with friends to trash talk with & go to meets with! You guys will have to suffice. :agree:
