University of Washington is cutting both their men's and women's swimming programs. I hope that the people who do their Masters training there aren't affected. Usually, it's the men's program that gets cut. But, here, they cut both of the swimming programs.

What makes you think that these Big West school's swim programs are any more secure than UW was last year at this time?
Definitely a bad assumption. We did have practice at the University of Washington last night and one of the assistants filled us in on the details of the teams being dropped. One thing he pointed out that's really worth thinking about is that the team supoporters are always great in reacting to these situations, but they really need to be proactive. Don't assume ANY program is safe. Without a solid revenue stream coming in there's no guarantee that any team will survive.
