University of Washington is cutting both their men's and women's swimming programs. I hope that the people who do their Masters training there aren't affected. Usually, it's the men's program that gets cut. But, here, they cut both of the swimming programs.

The size of the teams was very very small --- 19 men and 15 women.
The current coach has reduced team size to a max of 18 on each side (OK, I guess he found room for one extra on the men's side). I believe the thinking was that three per lane was all they could effectively support with the six-lane pool.
