College and swim programs are being cut - now!

WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE COLLEGE PROGRAMS NEAR YOU? www.floswimming.org/.../6629-college-cuts-are-coming Take a look at this interview if you haven't already and then start passing it around to more swimmers. Masters and school alumni swimmers have a lot of power and connections to make the decision that our kids get to swim in the future. (make that next year for some programs) Unfortunately, this happened at my school. They cut the men's program and made the women's program non-scholarship. It is pretty tough for a college swim coach to recruit if he has no scholarships to offer. Most of the swimmers he gets are ones who like the school, have decent swimming talent, and want to still be a part of a team. It is sad that it is still happening and will likely continue to happen.
