If true, he seems to have a habit of screwing up in the very next Novembers after Olympics...

Eight people connected to a South Carolina party where Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps was allegedly photographed smoking pot from a bong have been arrested, WIS-TV reported.
Officers from the Richland County Sheriff's Department nabbed seven of the suspects for possession of marijuana and the eighth for dealing, according to the station.
One arrest included the suspected owner of the bong — who wasn't even at the party, but was allegedly trying to sell the pipe on eBay for $100,000, WIS reported.....

Richland County, South Carolina Sheriff Leon Lott has decided to spend his department's time and money arresting people for marijuana possession related to a photo of Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps doing what is known by experts as a 'bong hit'. We strongly oppose Sheriff Lott and this wasteful use of time and resources for reasons including...
1) There was no more harm done to the citizens of South Carolina by people smoking marijuana at a party at some point in the past then was done by ten of thousands of South Carolina citizens who were spending time drinking or smoking cigarettes that night. In fact, from a public health perspective much less harm was done...but if public health is Sheriff Lott's concern, he might consider conducting raids on any of South Carolina's Cracker Barrel Restaurants......
I know this sounds kind of mean, but I sort of hope that the person that took the picture is one of the eight that has been charged. Now that person will lose some money because they have to pay a lawyer to get them out of the mess.
If this person wasn't one of those charged, then I suspect he/she told on the eight that were charged. This person won't have any friends left and I suspect will receive some payback in some form.

I was thinking the same thing! I'm sure a lot of those people who are getting in trouble are pretty ticked at whoever took the pic and let it out! I wonder if they will narc on him or her if they are not on the list of 8 people.

The picture snapping scumbug, if he was arrested, will have to use the money he got from the scumbag British tabloid to pay his legal bills. Then, he would have been a jerk for nothing. Is the cell phone photographer a man or a woman?
