Michael Phelps and a bong? Is there any truth to this?

are we sure that's Phelps?
If true, he seems to have a habit of screwing up in the very next Novembers after Olympics...
anyone here from the UK? How reputable is "news of the world"?
How could he be so careless?

. Lots of great information, and a very minimum of snark. A rarity in internet communication! Keep it up!
Geek...you are falling behind. Come on, time to up the snarkiness of these forums. Come on...break your new year's resolution to be nice and return to the dark side.

i just read about the 3 months suspension on Yahoo. It also said Kellogg's cereal just dumped him; they felt his image was no longer in line with their product .
ha ! no longer in line with what? .... giant globs of high fructose corn syrup?

You think it's good now, just wait till next week when Stud and Fort will break open the bottle of Love Potion #9, dance the Lambada (aka the Forbidden Dance of Love), and serenade each other with poetry.

I think I will have need of the barf bag on the plane tomorrow, esp. if that image comes into my mind.

Plain Facts for Old and Young, by John Harvey Kellogg
Nothing in there specifically about smoking weed, but Phelps may have broken a few of the other rules.
Whatever apologies may be offered for other forms of the dance as means of exercise under certain restrictions, employed as a form of calisthenics, no such excuse can be framed in defense of "round dances," especially of the waltz. In addition to the associated dissipation, late hours, fashionable dressing, midnight feasting, exposures through excessive exertions and improper dress, etc., it can be shown most clearly that dancing has a direct influence in stimulating the passions and provoking unchaste desires, which too often lead to unchaste acts, and are in themselves violations of the requirements of strict morality, and productive of injury to both mind and body.
Has Michael Phelps been waltzing? Where is the outrage?

Nah, Bork and I are sharing it. I mean calling dibs on it.:chug:
Brian...you want some of this?
LOL! ...Well at least we can share our toys nicely with one another though which is a positive thing right? .....So now I'm also Jim Bongkowski according to Swim Stud eh?....Oh my...I hope this doesn't end in another ugly limerick war between myself and Swim Stud again lol....
...and yes Peter my Northern friend....Cosmic Annihilation is now most surely to soon follow my recent sightings here! In fact my inter-galactic alien comrades are now massing just outside the solar system for a major full scale invasion as I write this posting....You will all soon be my at my mercy and (as the Borg would say), Resistance is Futile! :D
...And to answer Fort's question....Somehow I don't need my password to access the discussion board from my computer here in my office....but at home it asks for my password?....but your right that I can't remember it (much less remember things like my own phone number for example lol!)......Strange how the memory tends to fall off the older I get ....and of course for me, age is all that causes this particular memory loss phenomenon right? lol!
:bolt: :bouncing: :banana::banana::banana:
Sure, now just where, oh where, did I put that dang thing. Haven't used it in eons...
I assume you mean your copy of the pamphlet, "How to Race the 200 Fly," because the 200 fly is what I mean.
I am sure spectators will be comparing me to MP when I finish.
Classic Hero's Journey stuff:
:). We'll see if the script bears out.
Spot on! Luke Skywalker (his daddy went missing, too), based on Joseph Campbell's Hero with a Thousand Faces. Shouldn't there be an epic journey? (I'm also wondering where Daddy-Bob was in all this. Keep Young Mikey on the shortest of tethers for 12 years, then "So long, see you in 6 months"?)
:)
It's calling out geek and stud for dissing a fellow swimmer for the sake of an Innernets fight.
I apologize for dissing you. I mean that sincerely.
Soccer in the USA still sucks and always will, however.
Back to swimming now...
Vive Bene- I thought the same thing this morning when my mom (who takes the kids for us today) told me that he lost his Kelloggs endorsement. It wasn't just Phelps they dropped, it was the whole Olympic Team. That says more economics to me than punishment. I think it was an easy out to save some cha-ching.
He said he was sorry, we parents will raise our own kids in the way we see fit, and he did receive some "punishment". Can we move back to our regularly scheduled crappy economy, or something that really matters?
