Should have been at least six months, but then he would have missed Worlds. Can't have that. No competitive advantage via pot. It's a personal issue, not a competitive one. Also highlights what a joke drug testing has become. The only ones who get caught are those who are stupid or careless. The drug testing system is far more advanced, far more all-encompassing and far more likely to catch offenders looking for a competitive edge. Phelps wasn't smoking for a competitive edge. Therefore, it's a non-issue with regards to the drug testing program.
