Michael Phelps and a bong? Is there any truth to this?

are we sure that's Phelps? If true, he seems to have a habit of screwing up in the very next Novembers after Olympics... anyone here from the UK? How reputable is "news of the world"? How could he be so careless?

  • Nope. There are all kinds of rules and legislation to limit the overt greed inherent in capitalisim. Some of them are necessary. Some are over reaching. I can't blame an athlete for grabbing the pot of gold. I can blame the obscene professional sports industry's monopoly. For the most part companies are allowed to pay their employees whatever they want as dictated by market forces. This probably encompasses about 95-99% of all salaries in the US grossly. Of course, the other 1% earns about 75% and that's where people start whining about fairness.
