Michael Phelps and a bong? Is there any truth to this?

The bottom line is that he did something stupid. I care only enough to be a little disappointed. It doesn't matter to me that the dingleberry smoked some pot. I've done worse! It SHOULD cost him. He knowingly took money in the form of sponsorships that hold him to a higher standard and he will more than likely lose some of those sponsorships. I feel it should cost him more than it will, but who am I? I am continually amazed at some of the idiotic things that people, who seemingly have the world at their fingertips, will do to throw away money and the adoration of their fans. Burress and Vick jump immediately to mind. The act itself, in my opinion, is insignificant. People have to explain screwed up things to their kids all the time. The fact that he signed up for his status as a role model, and signed some big, fat checks at the same time, is what makes this a big deal! I say foreclose on his million dollar harbor-front home!
