Michael Phelps and a bong? Is there any truth to this?

If true, he seems to have a habit of screwing up in the very next Novembers after Olympics...
anyone here from the UK? How reputable is "news of the world"?

I'm very dissapointed in Michael. My kids certainly won't be getting any new Michael Phelps merchandise and I will have to explain to them that he's not the hero they thought he was. His tales of cavorting around like a drunk college kid--except all of the time--have been the thing of legend since Beijing ended, but this is just too much.
Calm down. What did you think was so heroic about him in the first place? What made you think he was anything but a young guy with a lot of money? Who even qualifies as a hero for your kids? Even the President smoked weed, and he still smokes cigarettes.
