Michael Phelps and a bong? Is there any truth to this?

are we sure that's Phelps? If true, he seems to have a habit of screwing up in the very next Novembers after Olympics... anyone here from the UK? How reputable is "news of the world"? How could he be so careless?

I think it is sad that celebrities have no hope of living a normal life. If by "living a normal life" you mean smoking pot at a college party, that is a true statement. The reality is that his achievement made him much more than juxt a celebrity--almost an iconic world figure. Several years I read that Neil Armstrong felt a tremendous sense of responsibility having been the first man on the moon. He recognized that he was immediately an historic but still living person, and he realized that he had to live his life accordingly. Have you ever read that he so much as received a speeding ticket in the forty years since the moon landing? He rarely gives interviews or makes public appearances.
