I have seen that most elite swimmers use multiple swimcaps (2) when racing. What is the reason for this?
Are the modern swimcaps made of the same material the new swimsuits are made of (theoretically this would be lower resistance than normal silicone ones)
...trying to optimize...and spend more money ;)

if you have a lot of hair, wearing two caps can be helpful for practical reasons. you have one cap to hold your hair on... then on go your goggles, then cap #2.
A related reason would be to prevent your goggles from tangling with your hair, but not wanting to have the straps on the outside of the cap.
