I need help with the sizing of my new Blue 70. I am 178 pounds. Waist 35 and chest 39 and I am 5 foot 9; I tryed on a size 28 over the weekend and it fitted well and was wondering if I should try get into a size 26?
Actually, in my discussions with Dean from B70 he believes the issues I had with my swimskin were caused by wearing a suit that was too big. I bought it the last day of LCM nationals and the rep said it was the right size. (Conviently, when I asked about a smaller size she was out of stock.)
Dean replaced my suit, which got runs in the rear after only 1500 meters of swimming. In the process, he felt I may need to go down two sizes. I went down one size after insisting that I'm not quite as lean as your average elite swimmer. Haven't tried the new one out yet--saving it for zones.
Their customer services is fabulous, so if you're really not sure what size you need, CALL THEM! They're good about describing the proper fit, how to make sure you're putting on correctly and how high to pull the legs. They do give more when wet, so be careful about up sizing.
Interesting ... It's hard to see how a suit being too big would cause runs on the back side though ... Why did Dean say this could happen?
The customer service is fabulous. The only problem I see is with the warranty. It's highly unlikely anyone gets 25 swims in in 90 days. In fact, I've now had the suit I got for xmas for 30 days and haven't worn it once.
