US 2008 Paralympian Swimmer, Marin Morrison has passed away
Former Member
Hi,
It is sad that Marin never grew old enough to swim as a master, but she wrapped a lifetime of swimming into her 18 years. She passed away this morning, after fighting an aggressive brain tumor for the last 4 years of her life.
She swam at our Aquatic Center here in Bellevue, Wa. and was an inspiration to all who met her. She was a swimmer, afterall.
She concluded her swimming career this fall in Beijing, China, where she competed in three events.
The local ABC affiliate has been following her for the last few years and many in the area have followed her journey.
Here are a few links to some stories that KOMO TV4 have done on her. (a channel who's number one anchor has been battling a brain tumor for almost a decade)
Her story
Her Final Beijing Prep
Her Olympic Story on NBC (there will be tears )
Her Charity with Hurley
Her Passing
With all the challenges that were going on in her life, you could see that each day that the session in the pool was the best part of the day. And isn't that how it is for all of us?
She inspired us and we will miss her.
Tonite, I bet she is excited to be getting back into the swing of two 'a days, and swimming the fastest times of her life.............and not needing a tech suit to do it:angel:.
An inspiring story to pass on.
Be healthy, Happy and Appreciative

Hi
Happy New Year
Roy won 1500 in 64 and his brother Robert won USA gold in 64 for waterpolo and father was coach of 64 team. They were from Buffalo and I think George you would have known father as he coached waterpolo. I know my dad knew him and said I should look him up in 64 and tell him who I was or my father was.
Anyways Roy died of heart attach at 63 in California.
