Yes, indirectly. We met on a pool deck when I was pool lifeguarding and he was a beach lifeguard coming in to lap swim to keep in shape for long ocean rescues. Now we are both retired and swimming masters, which makes for some fun adventures, including relays together and sometimes being in the same heats when we swim the same events.
