My comment about Jim Thorton being in the Eastern Media::D led me to wonder how many Forumites are on the E Coast as it seems lots of Y'all run into each other at meets. So where are you from. Also,I know many of you want to remain anonymous, but I'd like more people to fill out their profile.People talk about how they did at a meet, but without a name I can't look them up.
Howver, a Virginia early fall or mid spring day can be pretty close to paradise. Completely different beauty though in both parts of the country.
Fall is my favorite season here, the trees are so beautiful and the weather can be perfect. I would miss the seasons if I moved from here.
No, my sister is a Lurker (didn't someone label that on the sterotype thread?). She likes the ice skating forums better.
Texas is so Texas. My kids have to recite the Texas pledge after the Pledge of Alliegence (sp) every day.
Haven't met too many swimmer/bikers.
I ride a Triumph Bonneville and a Royal Enfield...but only local.
I'm a swimmer / former biker. I gave up my BMW R1150RT after almost being rear-ended during my commute. Couldn't afford both it and a car, and routes 580 and 880 are just too scary during rush hour. I did get to ride it up to Nanaimo (which I believe I saw mentioned elsewhere in this thread) while I still had it, though.

Yeah, I suppose there is more drama there to get one excited :bolt:

WOAH!!! That is kinda trippy, guess they are really into their state...to each his own.
Guess that makes Arizona seem more "normal" by way of comparison.
Scary :shakeshead:
I used to fish for smallmouth bass in the Susquehanna right within view of 3 mile island. Never ate them of course, but the fish were huge.
Yes, it's one of the best river fisheries for Smallmouth in the nation along with the Juniata. One of the stories that the local papers LOVE to publish is pictures any sort of odd looking fish that comes out of the river, the implication being that it is a TMI mutant.

Leonard, if you live that close to a meltdown, it is okay to break into a dead run- no need to keep one foot on the ground at all times.
I live in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada better known as paradise. Except for septic system as we are out in the country. LBJ we have to pump up to field so we have a macerating pump; perhaps I should send Geek a present?
If TMI melts down (again), I'm just going to pull a lawn chair out into the yard, pop a cold one and wait - no reason to try to outrun the inevitable.
You don't need to send geek anything like that. I believe the expression is "Bringing coal to Newcastle."

I'm a Canadian :canada: who lives in Cary, NC. You can always tell the locals from the "others" when the weather turns bad. Rain or snow, most Southerners don't know how to drive very well in it, they're just not used to it. A few years ago I saw a Good Ol' Boy in a 4x4 pickup truck trying to do 55 on an ice covered roadway coming up to a gridlocked and backed-up stoplight. That didn't end well for him or the 3 people he ran into. Then there was the guy I saw riding in that very same ice storm on a scooter, half helmet and t-shirt, with a case of Bud Light strapped to the backseat with 4 bungee cords, driving through the snow-covered grass on the side of the road cackling to himself. Welcome to the South!
Anyways, Cary is a nice spot, and the surrounding areas are nice too. Good pools, so I can't complain too much. Triangle Aquatic Center (www.triangleaquatics.org/) and Pullen Park (www.raleigh-nc.org/.../Cat-Index.html) are both great spots, plus the YMCA has several branches nearby with pools, and other gyms in the area have pools as well (Golds, Lifetime, etc...)
Born and raised just outside Philadelphia.
I'm a techsuit junkie, although I draw the line at wearing more than one at a time (more than one in a day has been known to happen though).
A charter member of Swimming's Bad Girls, I aspire to be a cliquish yuckster, but spend too much time lurking to gain official yuckster status.
Unlike David B, I can't think of a single reason someone would want to google me.
