several more meets need to be submitted but
this will give you an idea of where you stand for 2008 SCM top 10s
how do you rank so far?

I know the full meet results HTML file was submitted by *** Brewer. Not sure who who would take care of submitting the meet Hy-Tek file for db entry. Probably the meet director.
Any word on where the Shreveport meet results are (in terms of loading them into the database). . .
Yes, but it couldn't have happened from a better guy. You'll probably find the NEM results here when they are published.
Don't you hate when that happens!
Conrats Donna - awesome. We won't know for sure for awhile, as tjrpatt said, there are hidden gems that seem to always pop up.
Mark,
Looks like you came out unscathed on the 50 and 200 ***. Sorry about the 100. But Jim was so nice to apologize to you perhaps he should buy you a drink:chug:.
I hope everything is in now. If so this would be my first ever top ten ever:bliss:. The closest I came was 2 years ago in my old age group where I was 11th in the 1500 Free.
Looks like I made the Top 100 in all my events. Of course, not all the events even have 100 times submitted this year, and my SCM meet has not been submitted yet. So...
Gotta start somewhere, and starting at the bottom makes it easy to improve :)
This happened with respect to the September Sprint Shootout in NC. A link was submitted, but masters swimmers were not ID'd and the meet results are not in the database.
To be included in the database, a link is not enough. One has to submit the Meet Manager file.
Strictly speaking, IDs are not needed to be included in the Current Rankings, but if they are omitted the swimmer will show up as "unverified."
This was the dual-sanction meet, right? I know in the past when I've submitted USA-S meets with masters swimmers, I've "cleaned it up" creating a new MM file with only the masters swimmers, and substituting USMS IDs and teams for the USA-S IDs/teams. That works if there are only a few masters swimmers. If there are more than a few, then it is more tedious (I have to do this with a couple "Recognized" meets we have every year).
How many masters swimmers were there? If it is only a handful -- maybe the ages are sufficient to ID them -- then the IDs can be looked up in the national registration database. I've had meets in the past where many of the IDs were missing or were incorrect. That's what makes the job such fun.
14th in 50 Free seems to be my highest. See what happens in the next 2 weeks. 15th or better would be very nice to acheive. Considering that my time would have been 10th last year. Dang these fast swimmers.
Hey man, you are still doing much better than I am. My best so far is 25th in the 100 br. But I have made great strides in my weight loss (-50 lbs!) and my lipid profile. A year ago, I was a walking heart attack with enough cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood glucose for several people. My family doctor wanted to pump me full of drugs but my endocrinologist wanted me to give diet and exercise one serious try. So, I did. My overall cholesterol is in the 140s with a LDL/HDL of 1.5, which is about the same as my triglycerides/HDL ratio. My BP went from 120/80 to 100/60 and my rest heart rate cooled from the 60s into the 40s.
I may never catch Roque Santos in the breaststroke and I've been trying ever since we were kids. But at least I will live long enough to keep trying.
Thank you masters swimming!!!
Without IGLA Champs and NEM Champs, I'd have more than 1 this year, but there were a lot of pup's who came out of the woodwork for both those meets. I'm currently at 3rd for the 1500 as my sole SCM hit for top 10.
A heads up to the middle distance boys in the 45-49 age group....former Gator stud Keith Switzer has quietly snuck back into competition after a 20 year layoff (and dropping about 30lbs). Chop popped in at a SCM meet a few weeks back unrested wearing a jammer and dropped a 2:00 200 free...this past weekend still unrested and sporting leggings only (and having been sick for a week) goes 1:47+ SCY.

Umm, since we are talking about SCM, CS has a virtual birthday in just a couple weeks (Jan 1)...
I like to think that it was my blazing fast 2:40 in the lane next to him that inspired him to this record. :lmao:
Congratulations again, Jay.
I was in the lane next to Jay opposite Jim and saw Jay go by me in another direction but was pretty much even with Jim. I am not sure if we were blazing fast but I did not want to be lapped but was still some 29 seconds behind.
I am glad Jay got the record because I believe this was the only event he swam in the meet and he missed the record by a .01 at some prior meet. He flew from Dallas to swim this event before 12-31-08.
He should keep this record until the Albatross meet in Bethesda in March 2009, if Chris Stevenson shows up and attempts for the record then.
