Making a cold tolerable

I have had a cold for the past 6 days and for the last two I've found a combination of drugs that have made it tolerable enough to let me swim. I take Nyquil (generic kind) an hour before bedtime and Musinex D just before I leave for work. At approximately 5pm, I take a 1/2 dose of the Musinex D. I feel good enough to practice for a little while (45 min). If you have things that work for you please pass them along. Thanks, Coach T.

I found out over the years that if I don't nip the cold and it starts moving toward my chest, it often gets worse and may turn into bronchitis or pneumonia. I've found Nyquil relieves the symptoms and lets me sleep. An antihistamine, and I've tried Musinex D this time, keeps me from coughing during the day (drink a lot of water and often). I learned that taking the drugs has kept me out of the doctors office so I'll keep taking them and try to keep refining my formula ( maybe I'll find a formula that doesn't require drugs).
