Making a cold tolerable

I have had a cold for the past 6 days and for the last two I've found a combination of drugs that have made it tolerable enough to let me swim. I take Nyquil (generic kind) an hour before bedtime and Musinex D just before I leave for work. At approximately 5pm, I take a 1/2 dose of the Musinex D. I feel good enough to practice for a little while (45 min). If you have things that work for you please pass them along. Thanks, Coach T.

My junior college coach passed orange flavored vitamin C (mg ?) and besides tasting great after practice they seemed to stave-off colds. I have some C's in my cabinet and will start them again. It's been 7 days and my cough has significantly subsided and so has my post-nasal drip (still there). Thanks! Coach T.
