Swimming as rehabilation after back surgery

I swim for excercising my back after a surgery. I would like to make my work out a little harder and I am considering getting zoomers. I am not a strong competitive swimmer. Can you help decide between sillicone and rubber zoom fins? What are pluses and minuses of each?

What kind of back surgery did you have? Are you working with a PT? I had an L4-L5 laminectomy/discectomy and water exercise was a great part of my recovery but I didn't know how to swim at the time. What type of swimming do you plan to do? My surgery was L5-S1 laminectomy/discectomy. Great to hear you found zoomers helpful! What kind do you have? When I searched on line to see what to get i see . I see Zoomers by Zoomer, Zoomers by Finis, and I also see sillicone zoomers. I concern about getting the right fit. I wear 7.5 shoes, and wonder if I should get 6-8 (D), or 8-9.5(E) as I see references to them being a very tight fit and that people should get 1 size larger.
