Swimming as rehabilation after back surgery

I swim for excercising my back after a surgery. I would like to make my work out a little harder and I am considering getting zoomers. I am not a strong competitive swimmer. Can you help decide between sillicone and rubber zoom fins? What are pluses and minuses of each?

What kind of back surgery did you have? Are you working with a PT? I had an L4-L5 laminectomy/discectomy and water exercise was a great part of my recovery but I didn't know how to swim at the time. What type of swimming do you plan to do? Since I've learned to swim I 've used the blue zoomers and I like them alot. I would really recommend avoiding kickboards, though in favor of swimming in a good streamline.
