there's videos of the auburn Texas meet up on floswimming
what's interesting is in the videos I've watched so far
all the swimmers wore briefs

I just got back from the pool. As I was swimming, I was wondering how they did.
Glad to see National Champs are in Texas, even if they are in CS. I think I might try and go.
I love floswimming when they capture meets like this and I make time to watch it. I only had a chance to check out the two events I care about -- men's and women's 500 frees. Things I noticed on just a cursory watch:
traditional suits on all swimmers, both sexes
turns: very few of the swimmers were doing much in the way of SDK off the walls. I've been debating whether or not this should be part of my 500 free strategy.
kicking: the guy who won the men's race had an interesting approach in that he appeared to 6 beat kick the first half of each lap and then ramp down to a 2 beat into the wall. The women seemed to be more consistently 4 to 6 beat kicking throughout the race.
I hope NCAAs will get onto the web. I'm looking forward to watching more.
Not sure if floswimming will be permitted to video NCAA's because of broadcasting rights issues
Coaches made a no-tech-suit briefs only agreement before the meet
some swimmers SDK in the 500, usually like 2 or 3 off turns
some take 5 or more off the start and some take 4, 5, or 6 on the last turn
years ago bruce hayes used to 6 beat kick off turns then settle into a 2 beat kick
watch the mens 200 fly it's a pretty exciting race
also the Mens 100 free
Matt Target went 42.40 mid season in a brief

Do you know if that was just for this dual meet? Or, is this a general agreement across Div I coaches for dual meets?
