Glad I found this site! I swam competitively for about 10 years until my freshman year of college where I just gave it up because I was burned out. It's been 20 years and I just started up a few weeks ago. I had a break of 10 days or so from an illness but I am back in the swing of things. I'm focused right now on building my endurance again and that is coming along. It's amazing how good technique is sooo key to swimming fast. I have about 50lbs I can lose and yet I can keep up or pass many people in the pool who have been swimming regularly much longer than I have. It's great to be doing this again!

Mike..cool! I'm so glad there are so many others like us here on this board...getting back in it after all this time. In many ways it's like I never left the pool but in many ways it does feel like 20 years...especially with endurance. I really enjoyed the longer races at the end of my swimming career...especially the 500 free. I might want to do that. I was also pretty good at backstroke. Almost made J.O's when I was an age grouper but then I aged up and couldn't quite make the cut. I like IMs too. But gotta get that fly down!
