I have noticed that a number of high end Resorts/hotels in Vegas and other places like to call their "large" pools "olympic sized" If they just mean to say larger than your average hole-in-the-ground hotel pool, than I could see this as a semi-accurate statement (at best).
I have never been to a hotel or resort that had any type of official lap pool - most are too shallow and overcrowded to get a swim in.
