Clovis in 09??

So, now that we are on the countdown to May 09 - who is coming and what do you plan to swim? This will be my first US Master's National meet, and it happens to be happening in my back yard (at least very close to where I grew up and swam USA club). Over is San Luis Obispo now, but it's a short hop, skip, and jump over the foothills to Clovis!

  • I'm not feeling the love from all the East coasters on Clovis. What a matter, don't feel like polluted sky's and hot weather (kinda like Beijing ya know!). Actually, the Valley can be very nice early May with all the blossoms out and first fruits starting to come off. Other than the fact that it's a pain to get to from the East Coast, I think the lack of love may have to do with the fact that all the big meets have been out west (or in Texas, which is still a four-hour, ~$300 flight at best) since Nationals in 2006. I understand it is a bids thing, but even for those of us who don't mind travelling it can get a little fatiguing. I'm sure all the Californians will fill it out though.
