About: I'm 45, swim in Austin, Tx for Longhorn Masters
like to sprint but sometimes dabble with 200's & 400's.
Fly is probably my best stroke but I never/hardly ever train it
swim free and back and some IM's, and like to SDK.
Breastroke is my weakest stroke but doesn't totally suck.
swam for Paul Bergen in high school
Eddie Reese and Richard Quick in college.
I'm not as lean as I'd like to be. I beleive I can improve my times.

about: This is a joint blog where any Masters swimmer can post their workouts.
What Else? I'm 56 and started swimming the year I turned 48. I had no prior swimming background, did not do age group or high school swimming. I kind of knew how to swim when I started but have come a long way in the past 8 years to get to where I am now. I now swim primarily the sprints; free, back and fly (learned that stroke at age 52). I hope to one day become proficient in breaststroke also.

about: I'm 37, married with two young sons (3-1/2 and 6 weeks). I used to be a distance swimmer but now....who knows. I'd like to build back to it. I'm definately a freestyler and somewhat of a backstroker.
What Else? I'm posting my workouts on my blog so feel free to use them

I've met Paul, my coach in High School at Dynamo was Alex Braunfeld who was friends with him. Hard ass coach!
Eddie I've met before but don't personally know him.
Richard I've met before but don't personally know him. His son, Mike, swam a few years with me at South Carolina.
I swam for Alex Braunfeld, David Marsh, Steve Boltman, Kris Kirchner, Keith Switzer

About: All things swim, but with a focus on competitive swimming. Weekly posts fall under headers such as "training strategies," "the healthy swimmer," "meet strategies," "Olympic swimming," "tapering," "suits," and more; additional pages feature helpful links, references to swimming in pop culture and more. (I update these pages whenever I have new material.) I welcome comments and topic suggestions so feel free to drop me a line on my blog.
Teasers: Expect to see a reader contest complete with prize, a recap of this September's convention and details on my quest to meet my all-time favorite Olympic swimmer (it's not who you think!) this fall on my blog. And, to meet reader demand, I am trying to work on getting some images on there as well...
What Else?: I am a full-time freelance writer and masters swimmer who loves distance (LC rules!) and butterfly, and really, really means it when typing "I'm going to work on my breaststroke and sprinting this year."

about: Currently live in Van Buren, AR and work in Fort Smith as a graphic design instructor (gives me time to swim). I'm 40 years old, swam competitively in high school but not college. Took a 20 year layoff and have been back swimming for just over 2 years now.
I swim all 4 strokes but have yet to try an IM. I just recently learned breaststroke and think I'm getting better at it. Currently I'm focusing on 100 and 50 distances but might go longer distances in the near future.
What Else? I think swimming is excellent exercise. I like it when my students are surprised to find out I'm 40! Also, an added benefit is that you can eat lots of food and burn it off the next day!
