  • Ten minutes was his entered time but he swam for much longer than that, at least twenty. I couldn't imagine swimming 20 minutes of straight fly in a LCM pool at my present age, forget about 40 years from now. I was in the locker room later when he was changing and upset about being DQ'd (underwater recovery). I bet he's used the same stroke in meets before now...was he DQ'd in those? I've definitely seen little tykes with the same kind of stroke in summer league swimming, without them getting the boot. Must have been the same guy that caused some controversy at Woodlands and the definition of arm recovery on butterfly. He was DQ'd on first length of 400 IM and they let him keep going for close to 16 minutes. A part of me thinks this is real cool to be swimming at that age, but a part also wishes for some to pick shorter events (especially as my mile was just kicking off after 9pm at Mt. Hood).:drown:
