I think Jeff Erwin's 16:39 is at least as impressive: he is 6 years older than Derks, and he also set a WR.
True, I guess I just expect Erwin to be fast! Maybe I should start thinking the same about Derks. He swam a sub-9:40 1000 in Austin, after all.
Kawamoto swam a 51.71 at U.S. Open a couple weeks ago.
