46.06. Can he break 47 with a flat start? 46.06 indicates he can. Can he handle the pressure will be the question. That has to be the fastest relay split in history.

Well, he's going to have a heck of a lot more confidence going into the 100 free now. A low 46 is insane... can't wait see what he does again. No matter what happens, everyone who watched that relay is never going to forget Jason L. :groovy:

That was incredible!!!! I thought the we were done when Bernard hit the water with half second lead. Then to see Lezak steal it from the french in the last 10 meters.... WOW! :woot::woot::woot: Certainly the most exciting race I've ever seen. Heck even the last 5 meters looked unlikely that he would pull it off.

Can he break 47 without the draft? That seems less likely. With Sullivan's new 47.24 world record the 100 free should be quite the race! Quote. Lezak's draft is fantastic, he's a doctor. The block is 100cm and he start on 20 km/h. First 50m in 21''50, secondo on 24''56.

. Can he break 47 with a flat start? 46.06 indicates he can. Hmmm? Relay starts offer the benefit of few tenths to nearly a second. And the excitement of a neck and neck relay tends to get swimmers more riled up. I would agree that he's got the speed and the strength to do it. Based on a 24.56 for his second lap...if he gets to the wall with a 22 low, he should be able to do it.
