How is the parking situation at Nationals? is it a mad house with cars parked on sidewalks or is there plenty of parking?
  • August in the Portland area is pleasant. It can hit 10+ on several days but usually in the 80's. Rain is very rare! As far as parking, there will be people there helping with parking. The main lot is pretty large and will be able to hold a lot of cars.
  • Cool and rainy..... not hot.... www.weather.com/.../USOR0148 Oh, puh-leeze, Al, you and I have a better chance of getting the weather right this far out. Wait until Tues/Wed to declare gloom and doom :thhbbb:
  • Just one day of a little rain and we will be slogging through all that grass with our feet wet, so better prepared now than not..... either way, I don't consider 80 degrees "hot". Most of the day will be 70's and breezy, most likely.

  • Cool and rainy..... not hot.... www.weather.com/.../USOR0148 Amazing what a couple of days will do eh? www.weather.com/.../USOR0148 As of now (could and probably WILL change) looks like mostly sunning upper 80s.

This has been kind of a weird summer here in the Pacific Northwest, it's a lot cooler than normal. This past week, it's been cloudy and cool in the morning, then by afternoon, quite warm, so if you're swimming in the morning, be sure and bring warm clothes.

There is plenty of parking on the campus of Mt. Hood Community College, including about 1,000 spaces immediately in front of the Aquatic Center. The longest walk from any of these spaces would be about 100 yards, but there is a "turn-around" area in front of the center where you can unload your gear before finding a space in the lot. Portland weather has generally been very warm and sunny this summer, although we have had a couple of cool, cloudy days in the last week. Even when the weather is warm, it can be cool and sometimes foggy in the early mornings, so plan accordingly. There will be plenty of places at the Aquatic Center to get out of the sun. There are stands above the indoor warm-up pool, with room for several hundred swimmers. Tents will be allowed on the top level of the spectator stands outside, and just beyond those stands, tents may be set up in the adjacent soccer field (the event sponsor is also putting some tents there for use by swimmers).
